People reveal to strangers what they won’t reveal to friends.
I’ve built my practice around that idea. There’s no consequence, no judgment that sticks, no version of themselves to maintain.
They owe me nothing, I owe them nothing. That lack of debt is exactly what makes honesty possible.
My personal work documents these exchanges. Portraits of people who stopped, gave me their time and face, then disappeared back into their lives.
On commissions, I create space where people can drop the version of themselves they think they should be. That’s when something real shows up.
My photographs are the receipts of that exchange.
